Embrace the outdoors this winter

Every Day Outdoors is our annual winter initiative designed to deepen the bond between people and nature. We encourage everyone to embrace and explore the outdoors, even in the winter months.

What is Every Day Outdoors?

Every Day Outdoors is an initiative encouraging everyone to engage with the outdoors every day in January. With daily prompts and a wealth of creative ideas, we're here to help you explore and appreciate the wonders of nature all month long.

Studies show that spending time outside is incredibly beneficial for both our health and happiness. Even during the chilly winter months, a daily dose of fresh air and nature can do wonders for your well-being.

How to get involved

Ready to embrace the outdoors every day in January? Download our Every Day Outdoors sheet for a wealth of ideas and inspiration on how to make the most of the winter season.

And don’t forget to share your journey! We want to see how you're enjoying the outdoors. Share your adventures on Instagram using the hashtag #EveryDayOutdoorsUM and tag us @MatthaeiNichols. Whether you’re hiking, birdwatching, or simply taking a winter stroll, we can’t wait to see your experiences.

As a special bonus, participate in any way and stop by the front desk of Matthaei Botanical Gardens to receive a free sticker.
