We invite artists to apply to showcase their work in our Visitor Center. With each display, we aim to create a space where art serves as a bridge between the environment and the people who experience it. 

Whether you are an emerging or established artist, we welcome applications for both solo and group exhibitions. We are particularly interested in nature-inspired art, from contemporary to traditional forms, and encourage work that sparks curiosity and conversation about the natural world.

We offer two main opportunities for artists to exhibit their work at Matthaei Botanical Gardens:

Annual Community Art Exhibition

Applications will be available in September. Exhibition dates are November - January.

This group exhibition celebrates local talent and is open to artists from all backgrounds. If you’re interested in showcasing your art alongside other talented individuals, this is the opportunity for you.

Solo Artist Exhibition Application

Artists with a body of nature-based work are invited to apply for solo exhibitions in our Visitor Center. Artists should have a minimum of 20 works ready for display. While 2D media is preferred, we are open to featuring select 3D works as well. Solo exhibitions are scheduled on a rotating basis and not all applications will be selected.

To apply for either a group exhibition or a solo artist exhibition, please complete the application form. Applications are reviewed on a rotating basis, and not all applicants will be selected.
