Preserving native plants and wildflowers
Located several miles north of Matthaei Botanical Gardens, Horner McLaughlin Woods is a 90-acre site that was donated to the University of Michigan by the Michigan Botanical Club in 1964.
This natural sanctuary was established to preserve native plants and wildflowers, encompassing a diverse range of landscapes, including oak-hickory woodlands, rolling terrain, old-field areas, numerous small woodland ponds and streams, and a significant buttonbush swamp.
