We know you may have questions about the process, so here are some FAQs to assist.
How will I get my new parking decal? You can pick up your decal at the Matthaei Botanical Gardens Visitor Center (1800 N Dixboro Rd, Ann Arbor) during regular business hours. Just stop by the front desk and request your decal using the primary member’s first and last name.
Prefer to have it mailed? No problem! Just fill out this request form, and we will send it to you.
When I renew annually, how will I get my updated parking decal? The same process as above, including a mail request if necessary, but our membership team will email you a reminder after we process your annual membership.
When does this go into effect? The week of July 7th, 2025.
Where on my car does this need to go? It should be placed on the rear back window of your car, affixed to the inside of the glass so that parking enforcement can see it easily.
Will the parking decals be easy to remove and/or transfer? Overall, the parking decals should be easy enough to remove. We don't advise trying to transfer it from cars throughout the seasons however, as it likely will not stick effectively after being removed many times.
I got a new car, can I get a new sticker? Yes, just contact our membership team to discuss this: [email protected]
What about using the kiosks and my member ID? The kiosks will still be able to take membership codes.
Why the change? Similar to the U-M central parking changes taking effect on July 1st, 2025, we aim to make parking a better experience for our members and visitors.
I don't drive to MBG, or I live out of state, do I need this parking decal? If you don't plan to visit MBG and park, you do not need this parking decal.
Can I use this to park at the Arb, too? Unfortunately, the Arb is not covered under the membership free parking perk, and this parking decal will not cover parking at that site.
Does the parking decal replace my membership card? No, the parking decal is simply for parking on-site at MBG. Your digital or print card is for use as your membership card for member perks and additional garden access nationwide, covered under RAP or ROAM.
