Would you like to experience writing poetry while being in nature? Would you like to commune with other writers in the outdoors? Would you like to be inspired by nature poets and understand how to use that inspiration to expand your thoughts?

“…take the first step—away from the materially bound and self-interested lives, toward the trees, and the waterfall.” —Mary Oliver

“Good writing is ‘wild’ language.” —Gary Snyder

Go out with me into the wild world to give some wildness to your writing. We will find a spot or spots to be in nature and use prompts for poem writing as well as hear some examples and some of the processes of nature poets. You can live an hour as a nature poet and have epiphanies and deep thoughts under the trees.

Mary Ledvina, B.A., M.O.T., is a healer, teacher, writer and artist. Even though she always read and wrote some, she discovered a love for poetry in college in the early 90s, where she played with words and received a bachelor’s in English Language. Now she has a regular writing practice and is finishing a poetry manuscript. But her love is being outdoors and writing, inspired by the natural world. She would like to share the joy of creating outdoors and how to bring that experience back in. Her work has been published in Art Journaling magazine, Paragraph, Seeding the Snow, Open Minds Quarterly, Peninsula Poets, and Harpy Hybrid Review. She has taught art journaling, writing, The Artist’s Way and more. She lives with her husband in a solar-powered house in Whitmore Lake, MI.
