Apply to Conduct Research at Matthaei-Nichols

Thank you for considering Matthaei-Nichols for your research needs. To access our facilities please complete the Research Application. If you are in a team, the project lead should initially register the project. Subsequently, team members can register under the same project title. Ensure each group member submits the Application for Research Status at least 2 weeks before the project commencement and notify us of any date changes at least 2 weeks in advance.

Guidelines & Access:

• Fees: Costs for special equipment or materials are your responsibility. We can help coordinate delivery and billing on a case-by-case basis.
• Building Access: All researchers need a safety orientation and key card access. Exceptions apply for student researchers without a faculty affiliate.
• Travel Support: Reimbursements are provided for select travel services to Matthaei Botanical Gardens to minimize expenses and environmental impact.
• Parking & Membership: Approved researchers receive free parking and membership for the research duration. Additional memberships can be purchased for lab members.
   

Additional Information:

• Computers & Internet: University of Michigan wireless is available, but we cannot guarantee the security of personal belongings.
• Maintenance: Requests for repairs or upgrades should be directed to the Matthaei-Nichols research coordinator.
• Collecting Guidelines: Collection requests must be approved by our coordinator. Strict guidelines apply for commercial or external use.
