What to Wear & Bring
We will be supplying gloves and any tools that may be necessary.
- Dress for comfort, safety, and the weather presented to you that day. You will be outside in the elements for the duration of your workday (3 hours).
- Wear layers and use sun protection, hats, winter gloves, etc.
- Sturdy close-toed shoes are required in all settings. Boots are best in winter and muddy weather.
- Long pants (not leggings or other light material) are required when working in natural areas to protect yourself against the elements, work tools, and plant material.
- Volunteers are encouraged to bring their own refillable water bottle.
- If a volunteer is not dressed properly and we believe it is a safety concern (cold and snowy winter weather for instance and a volunteer is dressed in sneakers and light leggings), we may dismiss the volunteer(s) for their own safety.
What About Minors?
Volunteers under the age of 18 must request and submit a Youth Permission Form before participation. Volunteers under 16 years of age must be accompanied by an adult for all activities. Not all volunteer activities are suitable for younger volunteers—even with adult supervision.
