Flowers are always plentiful in the tropical house. The brilliant orange blossoms of Pachystachys lutea, also known as the golden shrimp plant or lollipop plant, were a visitor favorite this week.

A careful eye may be required to spot the blooms in the pictures below. Some flowering plants in the tropical house are only visible from a higher vantage point. Walk the balcony the next time you visit!

The conservatory at Matthaei Botanical Gardens is open Tuesday through Sunday 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.; Wednesday 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Trails and natural areas remain open 7 days a week sunrise to sunset.
