A Deep Discussion of Ann Arbor’s Dioxane Plume

Starting in the early 1960s and into the early 1980s an underground plume of water contaminated with 1-4, dioxane discharged from Gelman Sciences manufacturing processes has moved in the direction of Ann Arbor’s drinking water supply. Tracking the speed and direction of migration of the water has been problematic. Remediation has been inconsistent.
