The Matthaei Botanical Gardens serves the University and the citizens of Michigan through excellence in research, collections, stewardship of natural areas, and educational programs.

The James D. Reader, Jr.

James D. Reader, Jr. Urban Environmental Education Center is located in the historic Burnham House at the Washington Heights Entrance.
The Visitor Center, Conservatory and Display Gardens at Matthaei Botanical Gardens are scheduled to be closed on Monday, June 27 until 12:30 PM while maintenance is performed on the facility. We apologize for any inconvenience.
