Quinine, effective in preventing or suppressing malaria, occurs naturally in the bark of the cinchona tree
There is some evidence that cinchona is effective in preventing or suppressing malaria caused by susceptible organisms. The applicable part of cinchona is the bark, whose antimalarial effects can be attributed to its main alkaloid constituent, quinine.Reference link
