A poltice of Podophyllum powder may be useful for treating warts and tumorous growths on the skin. Podophyllotoxin (podofilox, Condylox), an FDA approved drug derived from Podophyllum, is used to remove penile warts. Podophyllum resin is also used, and is used for the removal of anogential warts.

A poultice of the Mayapple powder may be useful for treating warts and tumorous growths on the skin.Podophyllum seems to be cytotoxic by interrupting cellular mitosis at metaphase
