We had a wonderful Spring Curator’s Tour this Saturday, May 19th, spending an afternoon exploring Heathdale at Nichols Arboretum. Heathdale is a unique segment within the arboretum that hosts Ericaceous and Appalachian Plants. Matthaei-Nichols Director Bob Grese and Associate Curator David Michener toured members through winding paths, beautiful views, and intriguing azaleas. Curators’ Tours feature an in-depth look at signature spaces and programs at Matthaei Botanical Gardens and Nichols Arboretum. Past tours have explored native plant collections, the Bonsai and Penjing Garden, Peony Garden, nature education programming, and more. These tours are hosted twice annually exclusively for members at the Sustaining level.
