Matthaei Botanical Gardens presents "The Mind Bloom," an art exhibit of nature-inspired paintings by Jennifer Farina. Jennifer's painting and writing start with her experience of the natural world and then, she writes, "lead inward and outward at the same time.” Her work begins with treks through gardens and woodland. These experiences inspire her to write poetry, which then conjures images within her brain instead of in view of her eyes.  Each artwork is non-representational, so viewers will all have an individual take…

Faeries are nature’s guardians, keeping a watchful eye on the natural world.  Invite them to your garden or home by creating beautiful faeries doors decorated with natural materials and other decorations.  After the program, visit the conservatory to look for beautiful faerie gardens. Two sessions on March 23: 9:30-11:00am 19-YE-02 and 11:30-1:00pm 19-YE-03. Recommended for children 4-12. Cost $12.00/child; adult accompanies children.

This volunteer training provides an overview of the most popular points of interest in the display gardens (Gaffield Children's Garden, Gateway Garden, etc), an introduction to the Visitor Engagement department, best practices for working with the public, and beyond.We seek volunteers with a love of learning and interest in working with a diverse population of visitors, including children and families. Peony Ambassador Volunteer Training 2019
