Dermatology is the branch of medicine dealing with the hair, nails, skin, and mucous membranes and their associated diseases. It is a specialty with both medical and surgical aspects. Skin is the largest organ of the body and serves as a protective barrier. Everyone has suffered from a skin problem at some point in their lives. Dermatological problems range from an itchy rash, or scaly skin to cancer.
