Diane Zoellmer's photographs capture the many moods of Michigan's shorelines. Combining variables over which she has no control such as the wind, water, light, and temperature with variables she can control such as camera angle, view, zoom, perspective, and lens,lets her capture a short-lived, unique moment.

The Director's Circle event welcomes Visiting Research Professor, Dr. Scott M. Herron of Ferris State University. Dr. Herron's presentation will discuss wild rice eco-cultural restoration, how a team of University of Michigan and Matthaei-Nichols professionals is engaging tribal communities from Michigan and Ontario on heritage seeds, and how the Great Lakes Gardens could become the home to future collaborations into the curation and education of Michigan's native plants by Michigan's Native botanists. The Michigan Conservation Stewards Program (CSP) is a volunteer leader training program conducted through the Michigan State University extension office. The program is designed for those interested in Michigan ecosystem management principles and sharing this knowledge with others. the course runs March 7-May 23.
