Open to the public, Southeast Michigan Bromeliad Society Meeting in the Auditorium of Matthaei Botanical Gardens.
Event guest speaker will be Betty Patterson who has been a member of the Bromeliad Society International for more than 40 years. Betty is a retired musician from the Dallas Symphony. During her vacations, she traveled frequently. Her favorite destination was the country of Ecuador, which she visited more than twenty times. The program presentation will be In the Shadow of the Volcanoes 2001. The trip was sponsored by the Missouri Botanical Garden and The National Geographic Society to study the flora of the Condor Mountains on the border of Ecuador and Peru.
