A concert of music composed for wind instrument. Not just any instrument, this unique flute was created from the stalk of the American agave that bloomed at Matthaei Botanical Gardens in the summer of 2014. Michael Gould, a professor in the U-M School of Music, Theatre & Dance, and flutist Michael Chikuzen will perform original works for the instrument, a kind of Japanese shakuhachi flute.
