If you're not familiar with the Nichols Arboretum Peony Garden, it's easy to access and enjoy once you know a few details. The grounds of the Nichols Arboretum, including the Peony Garden, are open from sunrise to sunset.
- Our James D. Reader Urban Environmental Education Center is just a few steps from the Peony Garden and hosts a range of visitor amenities from mid-March through mid-November. Click here for seasonal hours of operation.
- Food is available nearby in several of the University Hospitals; a 15-20 minute walk puts one in the heart of central campus, contiguous to downtown Ann Arbor with its extensive dining options.
- Picnics are welcome, but no cooking of any kind is allowed inside the Arboretum.
The Peony Garden is near the Washington Heights entrance to 'The Arb'. Its convenient for pedestirans, persons taking the AATA or Univeristy 'Blue Busses', and near major roads. Parking options vary by day and time. More information by transportation type is at the link below
